Different types of massage to choose from

Whether you’re feeling achy, or treating a friend, the massage menu is more extensive than you first think.

There are actually a huge number of different types of massage, you can find a specific message for an area of your body that might be stiff, or perhaps even a Full Body Massage Service as well. Either way, finding the right one to splash your cash on can be tricky.

That’s why this guide aims to explain the different types of massage, and what they’re best for, so you’re fully equipped with the knowledge to help you choose.

Swedish massage

Swedish massage is a common, full body treatment that is perfect for newbies. If you have a lot of tension in the body, or suffering with knots in your muscles, this type of massage will help to soothe and relax you. The massage therapist will use a combination of kneading, strokes and circular motions and the treatment lasts between 60-90 minutes.

It is perfect, if you want to relieve your mental tension and improve your overall well- being. The long, gliding strokes known as effleurage warms up the muscles to promote relaxation. Then, the kneading movements known as petrissage, helps to stretch and loosen the muscles. Lastly, the motions of rhythmic tapping (known as tapotement) and vibrations helps to stimulate circulation and soothe nerves. If you are looking for something similar to this, you can consider checking out swedish massage in Lacey, WA or where you live, to get a session booked for you.

Hot stone massage

Another popular option is a hot stone massage as it’s ideal for those that just want a break away from the daily grind to lay down and relax. Hot stone massage also works for those that need to relieve stress or alleviate pain. Hot stone treatments can often provide more relief than Swedish massage as it uses heat as well.

Using heated stones, as well as hands can help to increase blood flow and promote muscle relaxation, making the whole treatment total bliss. These massages tend to be around 90 minutes long and a little more expensive.

You can schedule in for your own hot stone massage at utopiabeautique.com.

Aromatherapy massage

This type of massage is known for its healing properties for both the physical, and emotional being. The massage therapist will use gentle pressure as well as essential oils to create a full body treatment. The oils can be absorbed by the skin as well as being inhaled throughout the process. This massage can boost mood, reduce mental health conditions and relieve pain.

Typically, the therapist will choose which essential oils to use, but if you have a personal favorite, they’ll be more than happy to accommodate. The massages are usually focused on the back, shoulders and head, and can last between 60 to 90 minutes.

Deep tissue massage

Massage therapists doing a deep tissue treatment will use more pressure than they would in a Swedish massage. This is ideal for anyone suffering sore muscles or chronic pain as it can help relieve tightness and anxiety.

Its aim is to target the deepest layers of your muscles and tissue for a more intense impact. While the masseuse uses deep finger pressure and strokes, you shouldn’t feel any pain during the process. If this sounds like something that would be beneficial for you, then you might want to check out a massage kauai service, for example, and discuss with them your preference.

Thai massage

Thai massage requires a bit more movement than other treatments, as you’ll be required to twist and stretch into different positions. However, the massage is great for promoting flexibility, circulation and boosting energy levels. Similar to movements used in yogic stretching, the treatment provides massage and stretching all in one.

These are just 5 different types of massage, with so many more options available. If you’re new to massage, it’s worth discussing with the masseuse which types they would recommend, depending on your needs. Then, if you like the first, there’s no stopping you from experimenting with different options next time!

Creating The Perfect Family Home

The home is most certainly where the heart is. As you likely spend a significant amount of the day relaxing in the house, the property must meet the needs of your entire family. This not only relates to the design elements but also the functional and practical needs of both adults and children. Over time, the family dynamics will likely change as the children get older, which will also need to be considered during the development of the property. One of the benefits of creating your family home from scratch is that you have complete control over the new construction floor plans and design so it meets all of your family’s requirements.

When it comes to creating the perfect family home, here are some key tips to consider:

Open-floor plan

Many modern homeowners have now adapted their living space into an open-plan layout – especially those with young families. Currently, your time may be constantly split between the living room, dining room, and kitchen, meaning you’re never able to stay in the same room with your kids, which can be a worry when they’re extremely small. Knocking down walls throughout the ground floor creates a free-flowing space which creates a more idealistic family layout for spending time together, as well as a welcoming entertaining space.

Bathrooms

During the construction of your home, you need to think carefully about how many bathrooms you’ll need to suit your family setup. Ideally, you should have one bathroom for every two bedrooms, as well as additional en-suites for guest bedrooms. If in any doubt about what would work best for your home and lifestyle, it would be advisable to discuss the finer details with your designer regarding your current and future needs. When your kids grow up, as it’s likely they’ll require their own en-suites for privacy. Therefore, bring up any queries with your bathroom installation in St Albans contractors during planning.

Storage space

One aspect that every family needs is storage space. It’s extremely easy for clutter to start taking over the property which can lead to chaos and disorder. Have you thought about where you’ll keep all of your children’s toys and clothes? What about their paintings, schoolbooks, and other mementos that you may struggle to let go of?These are all factors that need careful consideration when considering how much storage space is needed within the home. Incorporating extra cupboards and shelves in as many rooms as possible will ensure you have plenty of room to store excess belongings out of sight.

Playroom

When your kids are particularly small, adding a playroom would be the perfect place for them to let off steam and enjoy much-needed downtime. They don’t have to worry about making a mess, and what’s more, it keeps all of their toys away from the main living spaces. Designing your home from scratch gives you the freedom to choose the location of the room during planning. However, a spare room or basement within an existing property would work just as well.

TEFL Courses. 120-Hour vs. Level 5: Hours and Levels Explained

Congratulations! You have made a wonderful decision to become an English teacher. But before you start packing your bags or choosing your fun Zoom background, you will have to get TEFL certified. Not only do you have to choose the course provider, but you also have to decide which course to take!

If you have started your research but feel overwhelmed with the terminology and types of courses that are out there, you are not alone. This article will help you understand the difference between a Level 3 (120 hour) course and a Level 5 course.  You’ll be on your way teaching in no time!

What’s in a name, that which we call a 120-hour course.

TEFL courses are measured in hours. A 120-hour course would take 120- hours to complete.  120-hours is the minimum hours required and is considered the industry standard. Avoid taking a course with fewer hours as many employers will not consider a candidate who has not met the 120-hour requirement.

The length of time to complete the course will depend on the provider and will often be indicated on their website. Unfortunately, you do not have an unlimited amount of time to complete the course, so plan your time wisely.

Course Modules

A 120-hour course will typically cover the essential skills a teacher would need to get started teaching English.

Grammar

Lesson Planning

Classroom Management

Teaching Techniques

Depending on the provider you choose the course content for each module can vary. Review the provider’s module description to know what you will learn in the certification course. Contact the provider if you have specific questions regarding the course content.

Accreditation

This is an important criterion when choosing your 120-hour course. Is the provider accredited? Accreditation means that the provider has met internationally recognised standards for hours of coursework, teaching practice, qualifications of the tutors/instructors.  There is no universally recognised organisation that awards accreditation. Instead, there are many reputable accrediting bodies.

Just because a provider’s website has many fancy logos, does not mean it is accredited. Internationally recognised Accrediting Agencies include ACCET, QUALIFI, TQUK, IATQuO.

Being affiliated with an organisation such as TESOL.org or memberships to TEFL or TESOL-related organisations is not the same as being accredited. In the United States, the State boards of education do not accredit TEFL certification courses.

In the UK, The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) maintains official standards for certification to teach English in England and not the whole of the UK. QUALIFI is an accrediting body approved by Ofqual.

If you want to make sure your provider is accredited, review the website, and see if there is a link to the accrediting body.  When you visit the accrediting body’s website, you want to see how long they have been in existence and how many programs and courses they have accredited. The more years they have been in existence and the more programs and courses they have accredited, the better.

Will I get hired?

The 120-hour TEFL qualification is the minimum requirement for being considered for employment. However, your experience and your interview will ultimately determine if you are hired and how much you will make. But the good news is you are able to keep looking for TEFL jobs with your 120-hour qualification. Additionally, many employers value candidates who continue to enhance their skills through further training or specialized courses. This proactive approach not only improves your teaching abilities but also increases your attractiveness to potential employers.

There are many institutes that can help you get hired like The TEFL institute (accessible at teflinstitute.com), a provider of accredited TEFL courses designed for candidates looking to teach online or abroad.

Level 5 means I skip levels 1-4, right?

Level 5 means that the course has been regulated by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).

Ofqual has a qualifications framework that consists of 9 levels. Level zero is “Entry” and the scale ends at 8. Level 8 is where the study level is PhD.

Level 5 is called this because the course has been assessed to be a level 5 in accordance with Ofqual’s qualifications framework. The level of study is comparable to an undergraduate course and is completed in 168 hours.

The course content of a Level 5 may go into more depth because the course is longer.   Level 5 would be a good choice for someone who is brand new to teaching and feels that the course content of a 120-hour program may not be enough to prepare them to teach.

Review the course content of a Level 5 provider to see what additional modules or topics are covered in their course and how long you are given to complete the course.

Will I be more marketable?

There is no solid research that backs up the claim that completing a Level 5 course will make you more marketable. The question to ask yourself is where do you plan to teach? If you plan to work in a particular country and you notice that job postings prefer a candidate to have Level 5 qualification, then pursue a Level 5 course.

MYTH

Level 5 will make you more money. Salaries in the TEFL industry are determined by experience which is gained through the number of years you spend teaching as well as whether you have a bachelor’s degree. Check out the below infographic that showcases the best destinations to teach English for those who do not have a degree. A teacher who is just starting out in the industry will make the same if they have a 120-hour or Level 5 qualification.

Conclusion

Anyone starting out in the world of TEFL would benefit from either a Level 5 or 120-hour course. Getting started is the first step to finding your future teaching job.  Staying competitive, marketable and earning your desired salary will come from gaining experience so teach, teach, teach!

4 Office Etiquette Tips for After COVID-19

As the country is opening up again, employers will increasingly be expecting their employees to return to the office. Many people have spent over a year either furloughed or working from home, and this once all-too familiar environment will now seem quite alien to them. Many will be understandably anxious about entering an environment they do not have full control over.

With this in mind, here are a few tips for maintain good office etiquette in the post-COVID world.

Look After Yourself, Look After Others

Perhaps the most important tip on this list is this; do not come to work if you are feeling unwell. There are no employee of the month awards for spreading coronavirus to your colleagues. Take your temperature every morning, regardless of how you feel, before you leave for work. If you have time, try to take a lateral flow antigen test just after you wake up. The results will be ready in half an hour, meaning you can quickly and conveniently check to see if you are able to go to work.

If you wake up with any symptoms of coronavirus, such as a sore throat or a new cough, it is essential that you take a rapid Covid test. Your colleagues will thank you for staying at home if it turns out you are ill. They may not be so forgiving if you decide to come to work anyway.

Follow the Rules

As more people come back to work after covid-19, most workspaces would probably have new rules in place to mitigate the spread of coronavirus, such as wearing a face-covering indoors, or by respecting a one-way system around the office. It is essential that you follow these rules; they are there for your safety and that of others.

Upon your return to the office, you may find that the layout of your workspace is unfamiliar, as desks may have been moved around and traffic cones installed to facilitate social distancing. You may also find that you can no longer do some of the things you used to do, such as chat with your friends by the coffee machine for 5 minutes or so. Remember, these regulations are in place to keep you safe. Your colleagues will appreciate your commitment to keeping them safe as well as yourself.

Keep your Workspace Clean

Although it is unlikely, it is still possible to contract coronavirus from surfaces within the office. It is important that you keep your workspace clean with R-Zero Systems or like devices. You should also carry some antiseptic wipes around with you at all times, and wipe down your desk and any equipment you may have been using at the end of the working day.

Make sure to regularly use hand sanitiser to minimise the spread of coronavirus droplets from outside of the office as well; if you are commuting into work on public transport, you may pick up something from there.

If you are sitting by a window, be sure to keep it open throughout the day. The ventilation will help to keep the air clean and prevent the spread of airborne coronavirus droplets.

Be Mindful of Others

There will be some people in the office that do not take to office life as quickly as you might. Be respectful of their feelings, and do not judge them for taking extra precautions that you perhaps do not consider necessary.

They may also not be too comfortable about socialising outside of the office yet either. Try to be understanding of what they are going through, as they may become more encouraged to partake in social activities such as going for a meal after a few weeks.

It’s unlikely that these tips will be needed forever, and hopefully it’ll be sooner rather than later that we can truly get back to normal. In the meantime, however, make sure you follow the rules of the “new normal”.

4 Tips for Being a Good Post-COVID Colleague

As restrictions ease across the UK, many of us will be returning to the office for work. Your organisation may even be planning your return at this moment. We’ve all become accustomed to working from home, and the transition back to the office may be difficult for some. Here are a few tips on how you can make the return to the office as pleasant as possible for your colleagues.

Before you Leave the House

Take the moment between waking up and having breakfast to take a Healgen rapid antigen test, and allow the results to develop while you are getting ready. This will help put your mind at ease if you test negative, and keep your colleagues safe.

If you do not have time to take a coronavirus test, consider using a thermometer to check your temperature before leaving the house, as a high fever can be a symptom of coronavirus infection.

If you develop other symptoms, such as a sore throat or cough, then make sure to take a lateral flow test to make sure you are not infected. Order your test kit here.

Stay Safe on Your Commute

The commute to work being a daily part of your routine may seem quite alien now, but it is important to remain safe on this part of the journey, as it is the most likely point that you will become infected. Leave yourself plenty of time to get to work, as services may be reduced due to coronavirus restrictions. It will also allow you to socially distance on a quieter train or bus if it is busy.

Make sure you bring hand sanitiser with you and use it between public transport services, especially if you have to make changes on your journey. Always wear a face mask in enclosed spaces, and try to keep your distance from others.

Keep the Office Safe

Try to maintain social distancing indoors once you reach the office, only leaving your desk when it is absolutely necessary. Take a picnic to work and plenty of water, so you can take lunch at your desk if needed. Bring your own coffee cup to get some caffeine for yourself from the office coffee machine. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it will mean you don’t have to touch any surfaces unnecessarily!

If the weather’s nice, try to find a secluded spot outside to take lunch and get some fresh air. Avoid shops and cafes with large queues, as it may be difficult to socially distance from others.

Keep your office well-ventilated by keeping doors and windows open at all times. This allows the air inside the building to regularly be recycled, which reduces the chance of spreading coronavirus droplets through the air. To add a nice touch to it, you could use an air freshener in your cubicle or cabin to keep the air smelling nice and lively. There are plenty of good ones available on websites like Hyscent (hyscent.com) and others. Having clean and fresh air would not only keep the office safe but also make it a pleasant place to work for everyone. In conjunction with social distancing and wearing a mask, this can be an effective way of protecting yourself and others.

At the end of your day, make sure to wipe down your workstation with antiseptic wipes to kill any virus droplets that may be present. You can also keep your workspace clean by using hand sanitizer constantly throughout the day. In addition, you can hold an office clean-up drive every week with the help of professional COVID cleaners.

Be Mindful of your Colleagues

All of us have had to experience the hardships of the pandemic, but some of us have had a much harder time than others. Be considerate of your colleagues, and give them plenty of time and space to adjust back to the office environment. Some of them may take longer than others to do so.

Remember not to underestimate the threat posed by the coronavirus; it is easy to think that the threat has largely disappeared as cases and deaths drop, however scientists believe it will still be around for years to come. Always stay vigilant, and remember to voice any concerns you may have about safe working practices to your line manager.

The Advantages to Learning Online

In the past couple of years, much of our everyday lives has moved online: Shopping, working, communicating, and for this article, learning. What was originally supposed to be a quick fix for a short lockdown has now become a fundamental way of life as more people are considering learning online full time, even after lockdown restrictions are lifted.

But the best thing about it? There are so many different online providers out there, similar to Skillshare (check out the skillshare price here) and so many different courses to choose from, that you are bound to find a new hobby to help you get through what is currently the toughest time in our lives. And if you ask me, I think that is absolutely wonderful.

So, is online learning here to stay? Below are the main advantages of it doing so.

Increased Flexibility and Self-Paced Learning

Online learning provides unparalleled flexibility and self-paced education opportunities across all fields. Whether you’re aiming to enhance your project management skills in your corporate job through Prince2 Training or pursuing a Ph.D. in literature for academic career advancement, online learning offers numerous advantages.

It allows learners to access courses, resources, and instructors from anywhere in the world, accommodating busy schedules and varying learning styles. This accessibility democratizes education, empowering individuals to advance their knowledge, skills, and careers without the constraints of traditional classroom settings.

Much More Affordable

Generally speaking, schools that utilize online learning can offer their services at a much cheaper rate. Consider the NMU Global Campus, they offer a range of courses online and offer the second lowest tuition in Michigan. This rate does not come with a lack of quality either, as students are very positive about their courses and have gone on to graduate successfully. More can be found about NMU at https://nmu.edu/online/.

Not only do these schools cost less in a literal sense, but students also save money on not having to commute or buy lunch and coffee by attending a physical campus.

It Demonstrates Self-Motivation

In a recent article published by the World Economic Forum, it was shown that education has dramatically changed as a result of the pandemic, and that research suggests online learning has been shown to increase retention and information.

By graduating with a degree from an online course, you are not only showing prospective employers that you are qualified in that course but also that you are passionate and self-motivated enough to obtain that qualification entirely on your own merit. It shows significant organizational skills as obtaining an online degree shows that you can tackle multiple tasks at once, set priorities and adapt to changes in your work conditions.

Obtain a Broader Perspective

Students who participate in online programs can come from all over the world, meaning that when you take an online course, you will be subject to the thoughts and feelings of a range of different backgrounds and cultures. This means what you learn is less black and white than if you only learned it with people in your surrounding area. You will better understand why people may take a different approach to yours and come out a much better person because of it.

Your Home No Longer Meets Your Needs: Now What?

The accompanying infographic, Renovate, Move or Build a New Home?, offers a brief list of factors to consider when your home no longer meets your needs. Whether it’s not big enough, the layout doesn’t fit your style, the home is aging, or your neighborhood is no longer desirable, this infographic can help you make your next decision.

Many families reach a point at which their current home simply does not meet their current or future lifestyle. As anyone would know, it is easy to find contractors to make a plan for a new start in your home, they can rebuild parts of it, you can add rooms on, you can really move things around if you need to! And there is an abundance of contractors who can help you do this. For example, do you want new lighting installed? Perfect! You will be able to find high quality electricians in Decatur or in whichever location you need them, to rewire your electrics and make this possible. Do you need a new roof with added curb appeal? There will be a host of options for roofers in your local area as well! Any changes big or small can really make a difference, even if it’s something like renovating the bathroom and using Apollo Plumbing to change up the sink, or adding a fresh lick of paint to the walls. Not everyone can afford to do up their own home, and so in this case, moving to a new home might be the best choice for the family. So when it comes down to it, and if you find yourself in this situation, you have options available to you. Each alternative has its own set of pros and cons, and families must consider all of them before making such an important decision.

Many times, a few tweaks or decorations can suffice for a busy family who struggles to find the time to plan for a renovation/remodel. This can be a few licks of paint and some wall art decoration like some of the neon sculptures for sale on the internet for example. Sometimes it needs a bit of color and character, and this is easy to achieve. If a house is ageing, you can play with this vibe and accentuate it to something meaningful. A vintage/retro feel might be the way to go in this case, something that is easy to achieve.

Then, of course, for some families, it is a make or break situation and a new neighborhood and house plan is on the cards. Perhaps the house really isn’t mouldable enough for the visions they have in mind. And in that case, the most satisfying outcome would be to look for a new house entirely. If that’s the route that some families are taking, then they can always look for serene neighborhoods like Olde Bulltown Village (oldebulltown.com) for instance, which can offer the family a sense of community and togetherness, albeit on a small scale if that is their preferred choice. This is totally okay too. No matter what decision one makes on the living situation, the internet holds a plethora of ideas and inspirations to help them decide what they want, as well as what might be best for you too.

It all comes down to a balancing act. You must weigh your desire for what you want against your ability to pay for it. A serious consideration of the infographic’s reasons for choosing one option over the other will help you decide which way to go in pursuit of your dream home. Check it out – the advice is sure to help you hit a home run!

Homeschooling as a Reality

Parents who have had their children in school for many years find the idea of homework support confusing and complicated. Ignoring whether you go to school at home or by virtual or distance learning bring school home to your home, you may have many questions about how you can incorporate learning at home into your life and make it a positive experience for your child. You may also have practical questions about how to remove your child from the school district.

Re new to homework supervision, already learning at home, or wondering at school, you know that the transition from homework supervision to homework supervision can be daunting and it is easy to get overwhelmed. Regardless of how you approach learning home the good news is that it is much easier than you might think and while it may take a while to get into the routine of home schooling, it can have many surprising benefits for your children.

To start homework today, you don’t have to look for accredited homeschooling programs or the best homeschooling programs. If you feel overwhelmed by all the curricula, I understand that, but like other parents who are taught at home, let the search for a good home school program continue. You can adapt the process of home schooling to what your child is learning, and it will only take a while to observe your children.

If people are worried about your children’s socialization opportunities, you can offer examples of your school schedule. Many local public schools offer their students the opportunity to participate in sports, music and art, and local self-help groups can fill the rest. Homeschoolers can join cooperative classes to learn from their parents, and high school students can enroll in courses at a community college.

Some home-schooled parents are less hands-on, believing that video games and television children’s natural curiosity take the lead, and that children seeking answers receive excellent, organic education. Children who do not grow up in a traditional classroom learn more slowly, with more control over the subjects, in a less chaotic environment.

Parents attending school say the resources and support systems in place in most cities allow most families to do homework. Some families choose home schooling because of specific circumstances, such as the coronavirus pandemic. Just remember that whatever role you play in this decision, just as much as you’re looking forward to kicking back and exploring those casino rewards as part of your downtime, so too are those who are part of proceedings, perhaps in a more engaged manner. They should also be afforded their equivalent downtime activity to look forward to.

More than a million students are learning less than in regular school because their parents are responsible for their education. Parents need to make sure their children get the lessons and experience they need.

In many cases, in some states, you do not have to disclose to the school that you are teaching your child at home. You can complete formalities to send your child to a private school on behalf of his home school or to withdraw him from public school. Homeschool parents must submit documents to the state explaining what is taught to their children and which subjects are covered.

Top Wedding Transport Tips for a Stress-Free Day

Once you’ve set the date for your big day, found your dream dress and picked the venue, the next step is to figure out how you will get from your doorstep to the aisle. Rather than the nightmare scenario of having to flag down the nearest taxi to get you from A to B, many brides want to make a once-in-a-lifetime entrance. To keep stress levels to a minimum, here are some key wedding transport tips that can help.

Establish a Timeline

While you don’t have to have every minute detail of your wedding day planned out, you do need to establish some kind of timeline to determine where the bulk of your wedding day will be spent. For example, you may be heading to a bridesmaid’s house to have your hair and makeup done in preparation for the big day. There are lots of factors that can impact your transportation, so make sure you have a basic blueprint ready that can be handed over to the rental company.

Know Your Budget

Whether you’re having a traditional ceremony or keeping things low-key, you need to draw up a budget before organising wedding transport. You need to look into things like the cost per hour, the distance involved, and the price of mileage before deciding on what transport to go for. English Wedding Cars offer reasonable prices that may interest you. Whatever you decide on, it’s advised to look at the cars in person before making your final decision.

Read the Fine Print

Once you have a budget set aside for your wedding transport and have a better idea of what your needs are, you must get a written agreement in place that outlines any deposits required, refund policies, arrival and departure locations, as well as the total cost. It’s your responsibility to read through the fine print so you are confident with your decision and aren’t charged any hidden fees.

Pick a Theme

Many of us dream about our wedding day from an early age. If this sounds like you, you may have a wedding theme already decided. When it comes to booking wedding transport, you must ensure it flows well with the rest of your big day. For those who are planning a classy and sophisticated ceremony, turning up in a cab won’t cut it.

Think About Your Guests

When organising wedding transport, you need to have a think about how your guests are going to get from A to B too. Whether it’s to the wedding venue or reception, some family members and friends may be coming from further afield to join in on festivities. Planning your guest list and considering hiring a minibus to shuttle wedding guests may be the answer.

Wedding transport is one of the most important aspects of a wedding. No one wants to be waiting hours on end for their wedding car to arrive while all the guests are sat waiting in the church. You also want to make sure you have enough space in the car for the bridesmaids and other members of the wedding party, which is why most people tend to go for things like limos on sites like Moonlight Limo so they can enjoy the journey with lots of space and in luxury. Therefore, organising your wedding transport well in advance will help reduce stress levels and help you look forward to the best day of your life.

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy?

Platelet-rich plasma is a form of regenerative medicine which uses injections of your own blood platelets to aid healing. Platelets are a form of blood cell that perform the main function of clotting the blood. They are produced in your bone marrow and contain growth factor proteins which can be effective in healing injuries.

How Platelet-Rich Plasma Works

During the treatment, a small sample of your blood will be collected by a healthcare professional. The treatment relies heavily on the use of a centrifuge which is why hospitals will always consider looking for effective centrifuges whenever they are available. Your blood is then placed into a centrifuge, which spins the blood at various speeds until it is separated into layers. One of these layers is the platelet-rich plasma, which may have three times more platelets compared to regular blood. Then, the platelet-rich plasma will be injected into or applied topically to the affected area. Bear in mind that there may be some increased pain at the treatment site for the first two weeks; this is normal and you will usually begin to feel some improvement after this time.

Recovery

After the treatment, there are several things that you can do to aid with recovery. Clinics like lieselholler.com will always provide patients with clear aftercare instructions and advice for minimising discomfort during the recovery period. You will usually be advised to avoid any activities that may cause stress to the affected area for a few weeks afterwards. You’ll also need to avoid taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen after your treatment since these could block it. You can also apply ice to the area for twenty minutes every two to three hours for the first couple of days after the treatment to deal with any redness and swelling that might appear afterwards.

Is the Therapy Effective?

How effective platelet-rich plasma therapy will be for you depends on a number of factors including your overall health, the part of your body that is in need of treatment, whether your injury is acute or chronic, and how the platelet-rich plasma treatment is prepared. Some studies have found that platelet-rich plasma injections were able to drastically reduce pain in trial participants compared to the control group, improving physical function that continued through three, six, and twelve-month follow-up visits. Platelet-rich plasma therapy is also growing in popularity as an aesthetic treatment and can be effectively used to treat issues such as hair loss and signs of aging on the skin, through the increased production of collagen.

Are There Any Risks?

Since the plasma is taken from your own blood, the good news about this therapy is that you will not be at risk of any allergies or immune reactions to the platelet-rich plasma treatment. However, there is a small risk of some side effects and complications including a low risk of infection and pain at the injection site. For the best results and the lowest risk of complications, it’s a good idea to research practitioners and only have platelet-rich plasma therapy carried out by a trained and experienced professional.

Platelet-rich plasma therapy can be useful for reducing pain and improving your appearance.
