Build Yourself a Path To Oklahoma City to Attend BrickUniverse!

Lego products are so inspiring because they show the epic creations people are able to craft with just tiny bricks. Not only are they tools originally made for children, but they’ve evolved into an essential part of a vivid subculture of people using the plastic bricks to make some seriously complex inventions and environments.

If you’re somebody interested in the amount of innovation that happens only with Lego bricks, it’s very likely that you’re already planning on attending BrickUniverse in Oklahoma City at the Cox Convention Center. With some of the most unique meet and greets, robot designs, and new types of bricks, it’s definitely the place you want to be to see all that the Lego world has to offer. You’ll need to block off July 20 and July 21 to attend!

To help you build your way to an efficient BrickUniverse experience, we’ve put together some helpful tips:

Choose a Mode of Transportation

Figuring out how you’ll get to Oklahoma City is the first step to planning your BrickUniverse experience. If you decide to fly there, the Oklahoma City airport is nearby and accessible. Once you get to the city center (where the convention is) you shouldn’t have trouble getting around easily, so definitely consider getting a taxi or shuttle to help you get to and from the airport.

However, if you’re somebody who is closer by or doesn’t mind driving, you can actually save a lot of money by doing so. Driving to Oklahoma City is also a rewarding experience in general, letting you see the wonderful beauty that the state has to offer.

Expect the Unexpected

One of the most rewarding things about traveling to a city you don’t know is being able to see it in a way that feels spontaneous. Sure, there are many guides that will tell you exactly what to see, but sometimes it can be most rewarding to let yourself be surprised and expect the unexpected. If you’re somebody who is driving to the event, allow yourself the time to find some unique things to do on your way there.

For example, the Oklahoma Museums Association has a list of all of the museums in the state. However, if you want to be surprised at every point in the process, simply follow the highway signs and if you see a cool attraction or museum, exit! This will not only make the drive feel quicker, but also more entertaining!

Make an Itinerary

This might seem like overplanning, but there is often so much going on at BrickUniverse that you should plan on what you want to see in advance! By familiarizing yourself with the official schedule and attractions, you can make sure you get the most out of your experience!

Finding the Right Place to Stay

When you’re going to any type of convention, you need to make sure that you’re giving yourself enough time to experience all of it! This is why you should consider looking into hotels in the aptly named Bricktown neighborhood, which is close to Cox Convention Center. Staying close to the convention means you’ll save time not commuting to the convention. In terms of finding a hotel that has good room rates and close proximity to the event, you can’t go wrong with the Hyatt Place Oklahoma City/Bricktown. With a convenient location and comfortable rooms, it’s a popular choice with attendees. AC Hotel by Marriott Oklahoma City Bricktown is another good choice. Its modern, brick-like design makes it stand out on the exterior, and its boutique hotel offerings give visitors a great experience.
